Open comments on the following:

(1) To what extent are people applying to philosophy graduate programs at the top schools disadvantaged (in the selection process) if they are older than your average grads - say 35-40 years?

(2) To what extent are older graduates disadvantaged in the job market once they've received their phds?

If the comments get going on this, could be useful for those on the market.

Comments section is just starting but already interesting. Even more interesting is the question of whether being a carnivore might hurt you on the market (this comes up in the comments).

Someone writes to Leiter asking whether grad departments tell students not to apply to non-research 1 schools. Comments could be good.

At the experimental philosophy blog, the question is "Should you advice graduate school applicants to submit an experimental philosophy paper as a writing sample." The author thinks that one reason not to is that, in general, philosophers don't like X-phi. A case where more comments will make this post exponentially more interesting.
